Freedom University Announces Virtual Study Abroad to Japan

Freedom University is proud to announce that we have partnered with Oglethorpe University and International Business Seminars to provide a tuition-free intensive virtual study abroad program to Japan for undocumented students!

The interdisciplinary program, open to all current Freedom University students and Dream.US scholars at Oglethorpe University, will feature professors and guest speakers from throughout Japan in an exploration of Japanese history, culture, business, and human rights issues from diverse national, regional, and global perspectives.

Special topics include gender rights in modern Japan, Mexican son jarocho culture and Chicano influence in Japan, introduction to Japanese language and calligraphy, and migration issues in Asia. The course will provide a valuable cross-cultural experience for undocumented students unable to exercise their human right to free movement across borders.
